MLS All-Stars edged by Everton in PKs

Chivas' Thornton truly All-Star worthy

Chivas USA goalkeeper Zach Thornton probably knew he had a good first half to the 2009 season. He just didn't know he was all-star worthy until he got a phone call on Sunday. Houston 'keeper Pat Onstad had to drop out with a bad back and Thornton earned the nod as his replacement.

MLS Fantasy Tips: Week 19

If ever there was a week to look at the injury report, this was it. Late in the week, it was announced that Brian McBride and Guillermo Barros Schelotto would be out for the week. Not only did this mean you would not get any points from them that week, but it also meant an opportunity for their replacements to do something.

Replacements step up for Crew

The Crew were minus players who had 17 of their 22 goals this season and the team had just three in its previous four matches. It was no problem as the 3-1 win against Real Salt Lake at Crew Stadium proved. The replacements for Schelotto and Moreno had big nights -- two goals for Garey and a goal and an assist for Lenhart -- and venerable midfielder Duncan Oughton made his first start in 13 months and contributed an assist.
