Preview Quick Hits: FC Dallas

When he was hired last June, Hyndman's first change was to scrap the team's 3-5-2 formation in favor of the 4-4-2. The FCD players are now more comfortable in his system and are closer on and off the field, another area that their coach wanted to address in preseason. Van den Bergh and Ferreira are big upgrades in the midfield and the team should not have trouble scoring goals with Cooper and Cunningham up top.

Pool 'keeper Rueckner ready to go

Since last summer, Bryant Rueckner has been a regular in and around Pizza Hut Park. The 21-year-old goalkeeper, who last played at Cal-Santa Barbara in 2007, trained with FCD for a big part of 2008. He is doing so again but this time as one of the MLS pool goalkeepers, meaning he is soccer's answer to a doctor that is always on call.
