AMSTERDAM — Jay DeMerit's rep says the US center back is fielding plenty of European offers, but there won't be an answer about his future until DeMerit returns from vacation.

MLSsoccer.com previously confirmed that Premier League riser Blackpool and promoted Championship name brand Leeds United are in the running for the former Watford skipper, while UK tabloid The Mirror has linked second-tier Sheffield United with a move.

The 30-year-old DeMerit is out of contract after wearing the captain's armband for the last two-and-half of his six seasons with the Hornets. He also has at least two tabled bids from the continent, but his agent isn't giving any clues at this time.

"He has offers from all over Europe, but there's nothing that I can talk about right now," Andrew Evans told MLSsoccer.com. "He won't be making a decision until he's back from holiday in about two weeks."

DeMerit made 213 appearances in all competitions for Watford. His shining moment for the club came with Man of the Match honors and a game-winning goal as they topped Eddie Lewis' Leeds to gain Premier League status in the 2006 promotion final.
