US coach Bob Bradley did his best to contain his enthusiasm for his side's unexpected draw with the heavily favored England side. But speaking after the match, he expressed his pleasure in the Americans' ability to get the result.

"A first game is about getting something," he told ESPN. "When you fall behind early, I thought the response was good and at the end we moved forward with a good sense that we can keep pushing hard and play well."

The US have fallen behind repeatedly in recent years. But after giving up a goal to Steven Gerrard in the 4th minute, Bradley believes his side woke up and got into the match. In fact, the coach says the side felt so confident, they might have been able to snatch all three points.

"I think after the [England] goal we started to put some plays together," he said. "There was a little bit more confidence and then there was just a collective push. When we got back to 1-1, I think at halftime the feeling was we still had a really good chance to win. And we take our point."
